OUR APPROACH
Technology and AI
Last updated: 12 July 2026
Technology supports our work, it does not replace professional judgement
TELO Family Law may use carefully selected technology-assisted tools, including artificial intelligence, to support appropriate aspects of legal and administrative work.
These tools may assist with organisation, research, drafting, summarisation, transcription, document review or quality-control processes. Legal advice and professional responsibility remain with the solicitor responsible for the matter.
Professional oversight
AI-generated or technology-assisted work is reviewed as appropriate for accuracy, relevance and legal reliability. We do not rely on an automated output as a substitute for legal analysis or professional judgement.
Confidentiality and privacy
The selection and use of technology is subject to our professional duties, including confidentiality, privacy, competence and the protection of client information.
We consider matters such as provider terms, data handling, security, access, retention and whether information may be used to train a system before using a tool in connection with client-related material.
Disclosure and consent
Where a particular use requires or reasonably calls for disclosure or consent, for example recording or transcribing a meeting, we will address that with the relevant participants.
Applicable court rules, practice directions and professional requirements will also be observed.
Client use of public AI tools
Clients should exercise caution before uploading legal documents, correspondence, evidence or confidential information to public AI services. Doing so may create privacy, confidentiality, privilege and accuracy risks.
We recommend that you seek appropriate advice before using an AI service to analyse or prepare or otherwise review material relating to your legal matter.
